“…In particular, the addition of concentrated strong mineral acids to the wastewater to be treated, raises concerns about using hazardous chemicals (3rd, 5th, 8th and 12th principles); moreover, the required neutralization post-treatment step, leading to the formation of sludges, does not meet the 1st principle.
