“…Additionally, SVR is also associated with improvement of patient‐reported outcomes and can lead to economic benefits. Given the high burden of HCV‐related HCC and DCC in Japan, the economic benefit of eradicating HCV can be estimated by reduction in cases of HCC, DCC and gained in quality‐of‐life adjusted years of life . Therefore, the aim of this study was to use a decision‐analytic Markov model to estimate the economic benefit of HCV cure by reducing HCC and decompensated cirrhosis (DCC) from oral DAAs in Japan.…”

“…Given the high burden of HCV-related HCC and DCC in Japan, 5,18 the economic benefit of eradicating HCV can be estimated by reduction in cases of HCC, DCC and gained in quality-of-life adjusted years of life. 16,[19][20][21] Therefore, the aim of this study was to use a decisionanalytic Markov model to estimate the economic benefit of HCV cure by reducing HCC and decompensated cirrhosis (DCC) from oral DAAs in Japan. A lifetime horizon was modelled until the cohort reached 100 years of age.…”

“…All the costs were expressed in US dollars (USD; one USD = 1172.5 won in 2015). We assumed no cost for adverse events of DAA because interferon‐free DAA treatment has few serious adverse effects as in other studies …”
