“…Several studies conducted among dengue patients, both with and without plasma leakage, have concluded that mortality in those with heart disease and CKD is higher compared to healthy controls [10]. Reasons for the increased mortality in these groups may be manifold, such as propensity for haemodynamic fluctuations, risk of bleeding and use of drugs such as anti-hypertensives, diuretics and antiplatelet agents that can worsen complications in dengue [11,12].
