In Need of Creative Mobile Service Ideas? Forget Adults and Ask Young Children

Abstract: It is well acknowledged that innovation is a key success factor in the mobile service domain. Having creative ideas is the first critical step in the innovation process. Many studies suggest that customers are a valuable source of creative ideas. However, the literature also shows that adults may be constrained by existing technology frames, which are known to hinder creativity. Instead young children (aged 7-12) are considered digital natives yet are free from existing technology frames. This led us to study … Show more

“…Since then, we have identified two further relevant pieces of research, as follows. First, Kuzmickaja (2015) evaluated the novelty of ideas for mobile services in terms of two aspects: originality and paradigm shift, as proposed by Dean et al (2006). For each aspect, a 5-point scale was used as shown in Table 1, with levels of paradigm shift being based on work originally by Nagasundaram and Bostrom (1994).…”

“…Working with actual children aged 9 years will help you improve your communication skills.Parents who go to school concerts and nativity plays are sometimes surprised by what their children can do. By working only with parents, you risk making assumptions in your research about what children think and do.Emerging evidence from technology suggests that children may be more creative and less constrained than adults, thereby pushing for new solutions 8Children, like adult patient partners, can learn about research and contribute to it 9–11…”

“…The first thing is an indication that teachers who teach physics subjects are not following their fields of expertise (Lee & Lee, 2020;Pe'er et al, 2007) Second, educators are less precise in using learning models on physics material. Namely, they tend to use the lecture learning model to cause boredom in their students (Kuzmickaja et al, 2015). Third, it comes from the students themselves.…”
