In Search of the Nativity of the Prophet Muhammad

Abstract: From the time of the pre-Islamic "ignorance" (jahiliya) until the introduction of the Moslem calendar, the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula counted time from memorable days that reflected various significant events. The representatives of the Quraysh, the tribe that inhabited Mecca and its environs, to which the prophet Muhammad belonged, were no exception.
