In situ assembled C3N4/SiO2 nanohybrids for high comprehensive performance solution polymerized styrene‐butadiene rubber/butadiene rubber

Abstract: In this work, a series of C 3 N 4 /SiO 2 nanohybrids were prepared and incorporated to solution polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber/butadiene rubber (SSBR/BR) to prepare "green tire" tread rubber. As expected, C 3 N 4 /SiO 2 nanohybrids are uniformly dispersed in SSBR/BR, and SiO 2 possesses a small average particle size of $15 nm. In addition, the interfacial interaction between C 3 N 4 /SiO 2 nanohybrids and rubber matrix are significantly enhanced. Hence, the mechanical properties of C 3 N 4 /SiO 2 -SSBR/B… Show more

“…The XRD peaks of the purchased RHNTs are in general agreement with the standard peak scale, the characteristic peak at 2θ = 12.1° corresponds to the (001) lattice plane with a layer spacing of 0.74 nm calculated by Bragg's equation, 2θ = 24.88° corresponds to the (002) lattice plane with a layer spacing of 3.58 nm, which suggests that the RHNTs are interlayer dehydrated, and 2θ = 20.02° and 2θ = 35.02° correspond to the (020) (110) and (200) (130) lattice planes, respectively, which further confirms that RHNTs do not contain water molecules 38 . For the SiO 2 sample, a broad characteristic peak exists only at 2θ = 22.7°, indicating that it is amorphous silica 39 . After the preparation of HNTs‐SiO 2 composite filler, the characteristic diffraction peaks of both HNTs and SiO 2 can be seen in the XRD spectrum.…”
