Abstract:We study the electronic structure of hole-doped transition metal dichalcogenides for small twist-angels, where the onsite repulsion is extremely strong. Using unbiased diagrammatic Monte Carlo simulations, we find evidence for magnetic correlations which are driven by delocalization, and can be controlled in situ via the dielectric environment. For weak spin-orbit coupling we find that the moderately doped system becomes antiferromagnetic, whilst the regime of strong spin-orbit coupling features ferromagnetic … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
