Abstract:A detailed investigation was employed on the manufacturing process of Glass Fiber (GF) reinforced poly‐L‐lactide (PLLA) composites (GFRP) during in‐situ PLLA polymerization using Resin Transfer Molding (RTM). The lower viscosity of lactide, in comparison to PLLA, led to a strong interaction between PLLA and GF as a result of improved penetration into the fiber matrix, resulting in a high conversion rate of 100% for GFRP and 91.9% for PLLA.
