In situ growth of Ag/Ag2O nanoparticles on g-C3N4 by a natural carbon nanodot-assisted green method for synergistic photocatalytic activity

Abstract: Novel visible-light-driven Ag/Ag2O@g-C3N4 hybrid materials were synthesized successfully via a green, facile hydrothermal treatment approach by reducing AgNO3 with carbon nanodots for the first time.

“…In Fig. 5B , the Ag 3d spectra displays the two peaks at 368.7 and 374.4 eV attributed to the Ag 3d 5/2 and Ag 3d 3/2 electron binding energy in Ag 2 MoO 4 , respectively 55 . The peaks at 233.2 and 236.3 eV ascribed to the Mo 3d 5/2 and Mo 3d 3/2 binding energy of Mo 3d, respectively.…”

“…The observation of the Ag 3d 3/2 and Ag 3d 5/2 peaks at 373.5 and 367.6 eV, respectively, indicates that Ag is mainly present in the metallic state in the Ag/WO 3 sample. 32 Moreover, the Ag 3d binding energy of the Pt-Ag/WO 3 sample shied to a lower binding energy with respect to that of the Ag/WO 3 sample. This is indicative of a change in the electronic structure of Pt upon the formation of the alloy with Ag.…”
