In vitro and in vivo Evaluation of Antitumor Drug-Loaded Aptamer Targeted Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes System

Abstract: This AS1411-mediated DOX-loaded SWCNT (AS1411-DOX-SWCNT) delivery system not only retained both optical properties of SWCNT and cytotoxicity of DOX but also could accumulate in tumors, which facilitated combination of chemotherapy and photothermal therapy. AS1411-DOX-SWCNT could effectively promote DOX cellular uptake and then increase intracellular accumulation as a targeting delivery system. AS1411-DOX-SWCNT by NIR laser excited could trigger S phase arrest and the late stage apoptotic on PC3 cancer cells. T… Show more

“…Also, AS1411 can induce an S-phrase cell cycle arrest in gastric cancer cells [51] and PC3 cancer cells [52]. While in our study, obvious G2/M arrest was induced by AS1411 in U87 and U251 cells.…”

“…Recently, AS1411 has been largely employed as a selective nucleolin-targeting agent, successfully combined with chemotherapeutic agents (such as paclitaxel [228][229][230][231], docetaxel [232][233][234], doxorubicin [235][236][237][238][239][240][241][242][243][244], and epirubicin) [245] onto suitable nanosystems in the context of specific recognition of cancer cells and tumour-selective delivery of therapeutic or imaging agents for cancer treatment [227].…”

“…Como en el caso de las NP, podríamos aprovechar que se acumulan en el estroma de los tumores debido a su mayor permeabilidad a través de vasos capilares formados para nutrir al tumor, y tras aplicar un láser u otra fuente de iluminación se podría destruir un tumor por fotoablación [114][115][116] .…”
