In vitro culture of Chrysanthemum plantlets using light-emitting diodes

Abstract: Effects of illumination spectrum on the morphogenesis of chrysanthemum plantlets (Chrysanthemum morifolium Ramat. 'Ellen') grown in vitro were studied using an illumination system consisting of four groups of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) in the following spectral regions: blue (450nm), red (640nm), red (660nm), and far-red (735nm). Taking into account all differences in shoot height, root length, and fresh and dry weight (FW and DW, respectively), observed while changing the total photon flux density (PFD), th… Show more

“…The same effect was observed by Kurilčik et al [10] and Lin et al [28] during in vitro development of Chrysanthemum plantlets and Dendrobium officinale protocorms, respectively. In Phalaenopsis, LEDs had no effect on the number of roots, while in A. andreanum the highest number of roots was obtained in FLs and Chlorophyll 100 blue LEDs.…”

“…In addition, B LEDs light were important for the formation of chlorophyll, chloroplast development and stomatal opening (Senger et al, 1982).
