In Vitro Multiple Shoot Induction From Embryonic Axes of Annual Herbaceous Legume Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.)

Abstract: The faba bean (Vicia faba L.) is cultivated in the Mediterranean and Aegean regions only. It is a rich source of protein and an important source of food and feed for human and animal consumption. Faba beans have a narrow genetic base and their improvement through hybridization is not feasible because of high pollen self-incompatibility.
