In Vitro Propagation And Rejuvenation of Senescent Maternal Plant of Ardisia Crenata Var. Bicolor (Primulaceae)

Abstract: Ardisia crenata var. bicolor is an ornamental shrub, owing to its declined wild population, recalcitrant seeds and few high-quality cuttings, the main objective of this study was to optimize an in vitro propagation protocol by using tip shoot and nodal segment as explants from senescent plant. Explants were sterilized and cultured on Muraghige and Skoog medium contained 1.0 mg·L-1 benzylaminopurine and 0.05 mg·L-1 1-naphthaleneacetic acid for shoot initiation. For shoot proliferation, explants were cultured on… Show more

“…observed that cultivating shoots of Bougainvillaea buttiana on half-strength MS medium supplemented with 2.0 mg L -1 IBA resulted in the highest rooting percentage (81.97%), the longest root length (1.14 cm), and the highest mean number of roots (4.75 root explant -1 ). [19] reported that cultivating shoots of Pyracantha coccinea on half-strength MS medium supplemented with 0.5 mg L -1 IBA yielded the highest rooting percentage (100%) and the highest mean number of roots (11.33 roots explant -1 ). The aim of this study was to micropropagate Bougainvillea spectabilis plant using shoot tips cultured on different kinds of plant growth regulators (PGRs) for multiplication and rooted shoots In vitro, then transferred plantlets to the field.…”
