Inaperturate pollen diversity in the arborescent taxa ofKarimnagar district, Telangana State, India

Abstract: The present investigation deals with the study of inaperturate pollen taxa of eleven (11) tree species of Karimnagar district, Telangana State. These taxa belong to Annonaceae, Eupharbiaceae, Hernandiaceae, Musaceae and Fabaceae-Mimosoideae families. The pollen of these arborescent plants have diversity in pollen morphological characters viz., symmetry, shape, polarity and ornamentation, but significantly all the pollen taxa have inaperturate apertural partten. This study provides palynological data of the ina… Show more

“…Taxonomists studied pollen morphology as a tool in the identification and classification of Asteraceae and for its taxonomic value (Anar et al, 2022; Ayaz et al, 2020; Gonçalves‐Esteves et al, 2022; Khan et al, 2021; Ulukuş, 2019; Ulukuş & Tugay, 2020). Pollen morphology is not only playing an effective role in systematic value but, they are also helpful for taxonomic delimitation, which is associated with Asteraceous taxa (Kailas et al, 2016). The Asterales pollen‐morphometric characters were contributing to the morphological disparity among the Asteraceous taxa, which separates closely related taxa (Jardine et al, 2022).…”
