Abstract:Acute renal failure is detected in more than a third of patients with heart failure, thus defining the acute cardio-renal syndrome. Kidney failure is a risk factor that prolongs hospital stay for heart failure patients and likely leads to treatment failure and recurrent episodes of heart failure.
