Incidence and predictors of diabetic ketoacidosis among children with diabetes in West and East Gojjam zone referral hospitals Northern Ethiopia, 2019

Abstract: Background: Recurrent diabetic ketoacidosis in patients with known diabetes mellitus remains a relevant problem in pediatrics with an incidence of 1–10% per patient. “…This study was conducted at Debre Markos referral hospital which is located in the city of Debre Markos 265 Km from Bahir-Dar and 300 kilometers from Addis Ababa. The hospital is the only referral hospital in the East Gojjam zone and serves around 3.5 million people and 100 health centers and 9 district hospitals are available in the catchment area of the referral hospital (44).…”
