“…A significant, although relatively low, correlation was found in the percentage of normal sperm heads, which is likely to be more age related than the condition of other sperm parts. Vinnakota et al 33 examined a large group of subfertile patients and sperm donors and found that men with a high DFI were older and exhibited a lower percentage of motile sperm than men with a normal DFI. On the strength of their results, they recommended the testing of chromatin integrity in patients over age 45 with sperm motility <40%.…”
