Abstract

Background: Covid-19 in March 2020 was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. The quarantine regime imposed at the time, in addition to being something new for our generation, was challenging for most people. The stress triggered by the uncertainty of what would happen from that moment on was the factor in the development of many dermatological diseases associated with it. Stress alters the structural and chemical composition of the body, making it a target for all diseases, whether through the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, various neurotransmitters, cytokines, hormones, and that can cause a negative impact on the homeostasis of the barrier. skin, innate immunity and adaptive immunity, the main dermatological manifestations observed during covid 19 will develop due to the action of stress. Material and methods: A systematic review of publications is carried out regarding the dermatological manifestations caused by stress triggered by covid 19, where publications in this regard have been searched on platforms. Results: This systematic review analyzed the results of 06 articles searched in the study where it found that the COVID-19 pandemic has generated a significant increase in the incidence of skin diseases that are associated with levels of stress and anxiety such as urticaria, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia and vitiligo that were derived from the pandemic. either due to the appearance of new lesions and/or exacerbation of pre-existing lesions. Conclusion: The stress caused by the confinement of the pandemic triggered and/or aggravated several dermatological manifestations related to stress such as urticaria, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia and vitiligo. It is important to use preventive measures and psychotherapy to reduce stress in people with those stress-sensitive dermatological conditions
