Abstract:Background:
Acute posterior sternoclavicular joint injuries are rare but potentially lethal injuries—signs of mediastinal compression range from nonspecific to neurovascular compromise. Currently, orthopaedic experts recommend a cardiothoracic surgeon be placed on standby during open surgery for potential intraoperative complications.
