Vestibular schwannoma (VS) is a tumor of the vestibulocochlear nerve. Current literature indicates that 1.6% of patients undergoing magnetic resonance imaging of the internal auditory meatus (MRI IAM) for audiovestibular symptoms are diagnosed with a VS.
