“…With control over the implantation fluence, the amount of noble metal implanted can be selected. It has been shown that a higher concentration of metal ions (gold) ensures close proximity between the particles as well as larger sizes of metal clusters (in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)), which in turn influence electrical contact across the film and hence conductivity . Similarly, here, inclusion of Pt within the film is investigated for the first time using ion implantation methodology and is expected to enhance PPy conductivity with only a small amount of noble metal implantation demonstrating a benefit over full Pt or impregnated Pt surfaces.…”
