Increase of blood neuregulin 4 is associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension in obese patients

Abstract: Obesity and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) are global epidemics at the present time, being a serious public health issue. An increased prevalence in the number of obese people promotes a risk for developing cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and some types of cancer. The ErbB signaling pathway plays a significant role in development of the disorders associated with metabolic dysfunction (e.g., T2DM, obesity, arterial hypertension).
