Increased Human Incidence of West Nile Virus Disease near Rice Fields in California but Not in Southern United States

Abstract: Anthropogenic land use change, including agriculture, can alter mosquito larval habitat quality, increase mosquito abundance, and increase incidence of vector-borne disease.
