“…Since lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 was found to be highly expressed in esophageal adenocarcinoma and silencing its expression significantly inhibited the proliferation, invasion and metastasis of esophageal adenocarcinoma cell lines (17), the research of lncRNAs and ESCC has attracted the attention of many scholars, and a few types of lncRNAs have been identified in ESCC. For example, lncRNA AFAP1-AS1 (9), HOTAIR (10) and POU3F3 (18) are highly expressed in ESCC, and their high expression can promote the development of ESCC and adversely affect the prognosis. Following knockdown of these lncRNAs, the proliferation, invasion and migration ability of ESCC cells was significantly inhibited.…”

“…Although the function of most lncRNAs are still unknown, the numbers and accumulating evidence involved in cancers are increasing. As for long intergenic non-protein coding RNA, only several studies has reported in NSCLC [28,29] , let alone the rs2665675 of LINC01495. Meanwhile, TRAPPC9 impact the development of cancer because it regulates the trans-Golgi exit process which is essential for cancer development.…”

“…The CpG islands near the POU3F3 gene are highly methylated in glioma and other cancers. Li W et al have demonstrated that linc‐POU3F3 physically interacts with EZH2, bringing DNMTs to the promoter region in oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma 95. Thereby, this evolutionarily conserved linc‐RNA epigenetically modulates neighbouring gene expression, which could be its common mechanism of action in cancers.…”
