5-Fluorouracil (5-FU) is a cornerstone in treatment of colorectal cancer (CRC) and is usually combined with leucovorin (LV) to enhance the antitumour effect by increase thymidylate synthase (TS) inhibition, the key target enzyme for 5-FU.
