“…It would be useful to obtain different scenarios that cover all curricular needs of these students (i.e critical care simulations). As for item 8, it is true that VS is related to the development of non-technical skills ( Redmond et al, 2020 ). It seems that it is necessary to add an activity that allows the development of technical skills at a distance, to complement the acquisition of skills.…”

“…Even though simulation has been used a lot in health‐care education, 39 its use in nursing research, especially in wound‐care research, is limited. In a previous study by Moura and Larcher Caliri, 40 the simulation was used in an evaluation of student nurses' competence in pressure ulcer risk assessment, with promising results; and in the study by Redmond et al, 41 a virtual patient was used in wound‐care education for student nurses. Nevertheless, no previous studies using a similar type of wound‐care simulation as a research method were found for comparison, which can be explained by the complexity of simulation as a method.…”

“…The training was performed upon the readiness of the students with an additional training period of 7 days, resulting in the student improvement on their practical skills. Moreover, the latex wound model training was similar to simulation, resulting in the confidence of the students in practice [11,16,[22][23][24][25][26] and the ability of the students to perform several nursing practices in the virtual situation until they were confident before nursing the patients. The environment is one of the factors that help students to learn and develop students quality [27] and influence learning in terms of motivation and enthusiasm.…”
