INCU Analyzer for Infant Incubator Based on Android Application Using Bluetooth Communication to Improve Calibration Monitoring

Abstract: Worldwide, over 4 million babies die within a month of birth each year. Of these, 3.9 million are in developing countries. A proportion approximately 25% of these deaths are due to complications of premature birth, most commonly inadequate thermoregulation, water loss, and neonatal jaundice. An infant incubator provides stable temperature, relative humidity, and airflow values. A periodical calibration should be applied on infant incubator to monitor the functionality. The study aims to develop a calibration d… Show more

“…The incubator achieves this by carefully regulating temperature and humidity levels within the chamber, effectively emulating the conditions of the mother's uterus [14]. This controlled environment is particularly beneficial for babies experiencing hypothermia, as it helps properly develop their delicate skin and reduces the risk of infections by limiting direct contact with external individuals [15]. In order to safeguard the well-being of the baby and maintain stable temperature conditions, the incubator is usually adjusted to maintain a normal temperature within the range of approximately 33°C to 35°C while ensuring humidity levels are kept around 40% to 60% [16].…”
