“…To further explore the high heterogeneity of this metaanalysis, a sensitivity analysis was performed by excluding the studies that did not adjust their effect estimates for comorbidities (i.e., excluding studies that did not adjust their results at all and studies that adjusted their results for only age and sex). A total of four studies [14,[17][18][19] remained in this sensitivity analysis and the new pooled OR decreased slightly to 1.21 (remained statistically significant with 95% CI of 1.00 -1.45).
