Indicators From the Quality of Soil Management Using Dimensional Analysis

Abstract

For the agro-environmental management the use of indicator variables from soil management combined in the form of an index may represent an alternative for the characterization from the quality of management and its response to the level of the environmental fragilization from locals with agrosilvopastoris activities in watersheds. In this scope, the work associated, through the method of dimensional analysis some of the variable indicators from the soil’s quality management aiming applicability in the agro-environmental management of agrosilvopastoral activities, these are: the geometric mean diameter of the aggregates, mechanical resistance to penetration, permeability coefficient, natural covering, the local of the agrosilvopastoral management, organic matter, effective root depth, exposed soil and analogue anthropic pressure in the management area. The application of dimensional analysis on these variables enabled the elaboration of six dimensionless indexes, two with applicability in relational analysis of areas and four applicable in the analysis of embrittlement and quality of soil management.
