Indirect Analytical Modeling and Analysis of V-Shaped Interior PM Synchronous Machine

Abstract: In this paper, an indirect analytical method is presented to analyze and optimize the electromagnetic performances, such as air-gap flux density, back EMF, cogging torque, and etc. of the V-shaped interior permanent magnet (PM) synchronous machine (IPMSM). The new method provides an indirect calculation model of the V-shaped IPMSM, by transferring the rotor into an equivalent linear one in the polar coordinate system. Based on the reconstruction of the V shaped PM, two part of magnetization calculation models … Show more

“…Thus, the relevant rotor magnetic potential waveform induced by the stator MMF could be expressed as a piecewise function rotating synchronously with the rotor and aligning with d-axis as shown in Fig. 4(a) and described in (15) where Ud_arm is the magnitude of the magnetic potential, [9]- [11]; v is the harmonic orders associated with the rotating rotor…”

“…In general, the calculation methods of the magnetic field are mainly divided into finite element analysis (FEA) method and analytical method [4]. For a motor with a complex structure and nonlinear material, the FEA method is often adopted to calculate the magnetic field.…”
