“…We chose to administer the Eating Disorder Examination-Questionnaire (EDE-Q; Fairburn & Beglin, 2008) and the Eating Attitudes Test-26 (EAT-26; Garner, Olmsted, Bohr, & Garfinkel, 1982), due to their wide and ongoing use within the field (Dunn, Hawkins, Gagliano, & Stoddard, 2019;Kang et al, 2017), and recent use with transgender samples . The EDE-Q has four subscales (restraint, eating concern, shape concern, and weight concern) and a global score, and also assesses frequency of objective binge episodes (OBEs), self-induced vomiting, laxative abuse, and diuretic misuse over the last 28 days.…”

“…In the current study we found that the ORTO-7CS strongly correlated with eating psychopathologies as measured with the EAT-26. Whilst this might suggest a substantial crossover between symptoms of ON and eating pathology more generally [65], it could also suggest a lack of specificity of the ORTO-tool as a measurement of ON tendencies. The ORTO-7CS has been found to have better psychometric properties than the longer versions of the ORTO tool [50],which we also replicated in the current study.…”

“…With regards to the association between Orthorexia and ED, studies have looked at the impart of ED positivity and DE behaviors on Orthorexia but not Orthorexia as a factor impacting EDs. In 2019, Dunn et al ( 34 ) reported that individuals who self-identified as having Orthorexia, scored in the clinical range of the EAT-26. No assessment tool was used in their study to determine the presence of Orthorexia as was done in this study, with similar findings of positivity in the EAT-26 and/or presence of pathogenic behaviors.…”
