Indocyanine green videoangiography and color Doppler imaging in Behçet's disease

Abstract: ABSTRACT.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the status of the retina and the choroid, and to evaluate blood flow velocity in the central retinal (CRA) and ophthalmic artery in Behçet's disease.

“…The most consistent finding from those studies was the decreased blood flow velocities of CRA in ocular BD patients compared to controls [5,8,12]. Lower blood flow velocities of OA and SPCA were also reported [8].…”

“…A number of previous studies have shown decreased blood flow velocities and increased resistivity indices of orbital vessels in patients with BD [4][5][6][7][8][9][10]12]. The most consistent finding from those studies was the decreased blood flow velocities of CRA in ocular BD patients compared to controls [5,8,12].…”

“…They found no significant differences in the OA blood flow velocities. In a study by Atmaca et al, 18 patients with Behçet's disease, when compared with a control group, had a significant reduction in their CRA, PSV, and EDV values. They found no significant difference in CDU evaluation between patients with Behçet's disease presenting positive or negative signs in indocyanine green angiography.…”

“…[19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27] In these studies, reduction in orbital blood flow and increase in RI were reported in BD patients and the most common finding was the reduction in the CRA blood flow compared with the normal subjects. 20,23,28 Reduction in OA and TPCA blood flows have also been found in BD patients. 20 BD mainly affects inner retinal layers.…”
