Abstract

The heterocyclic nucleus of indolizine or pyrrole[1,2-α]pyridine is a bicyclic fused system with a nitrogen atom at the bridging bond between the two aromatic rings. It has a 10-electrons system delocalized between a pyrrole ring (-rich) and a pyridine (-deficient).
