Abstract: Background: High indoxyl sulfate (IS) levels and low high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-c) levels are both risk factors of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients, the connection between which has not been clearly clarified.
