Inducing Salinity Tolerance in Mango (Mangifera indica L.) Cv. “El-Gahrawey” by Sodium Silicate Pentahydrate and Glycine Betaine تعزیز تحمل شتلات المانجو صنف ̋ الجحراوى ̏ للملوحة بواسطة سلیکات الصودیوم والجلیسین بیتین.

Abstract: The investigation was done to study the effect of Sodium Silicate Pentahydrate (Si) and Glycine betaine (GB) on enhancing salt tolerance of Mango seedlings "El-Gahrawey" cultivar grown under salinity stress. The results indicated that the application of sodium chloride (NaCl) induced a significant reduction in growth parameters and plant development, increasing salinity levels decreased plant leaf number, stem diameter, and stem length as well as fresh and dry weight of leaves.
