“…Induction of ovulation in fish using GnRHa, together with a DA antagonist, such as metoclopramide, domperidone (DOM) and pimozide, is known as the Linpe method (Peter et al 1988). The success of using GnRHa alone or in combination with a DA antagonist for the control of fish reproduction has been described in several species such as common carp ( Cyprinus carpio ) (Drori, Ofir, Sivan & Yaron 1994; Yaron 1995; Kulikovsky, Martin & Yaron 1996; Arabaci, Cagirgan & Sari 2004), catfish ( Heteropneustes fossilis ) (Alok, Krishnan, Talwar & Grag 1993), Indian major carps such as rohu ( Labeo rohita ) and mrigal ( Cirrhinus mrigala ) (Halder, Sen, Bhattacharaya, Ray, Ghosh & Jhingran 1991), nase ( Chondrostoma nasus ) (Szabó, Medgyasszay & Horváth 2002), pearl mullet ( Chalcalburnus tarichi ) (Arabaci & Sari 2004), rainbow trout ( Oncorhynchus mykiss ) (Billard, Reinaud, Hollebecq & Breton 1984; Breton, Weil, Sambroni & Zohar 1990), lake trout ( Salvelinus namaycush ) (Erdahl & McClain 1987), sockeye salmon ( Oncorhynchus nerka ) (Slater, Schreck & Amend 1995), Kutum ( Rutilus frisii kutum ) (Dorafshan & Heyrati 2006; Heyrati et al 2007) and sterlet ( Acipenser ruthenus ) (Rónyai 2009). Currently, the hormones mostly used in P. fulvidraco ovulation are CPE, HCG and GnRHa (Peng & Hu 2003; Bian 2007), but little has been reported on using GnRHa together with a DA antagonist in this fish.…”
