“…From the Table 1, we observed that the unit cell volumes of the SrF 2 :3Dy is larger than SrF 2 this can be explained as follows. The ionic radii of the Sr 2+ (r Sr 2+  = 1.27 Å) [21] is larger than the size of Dy 3+ ( r Dy 3+  = 1.03 Å) [22], and according to Vegard’s law, incorporation of Dy 3+ ion in SrF 2 results in shrinking of unit cell volume as compared to the standard data (JCPDS No. 01-1274).…”
