Inertial load effects on a single axis gimbal flywheel with magnetic bearings

Abstract: In this research study, a single axis gimbal flywheel active magnetic bearing(AMB) system is modelled and analyzed under the effects of inertial loads. Electromagnetic forces of an AMB system suspend a flywheel rotor without any mechanical contact. Magnetic bearings need active control and generally designed to work in fixed systems.
