Infected with mold! Zygomycosis: A case report

Abstract: Purpose To discuss a case of zygomycosis in a 71‐year‐old woman with diabetes. An overview of the prevalence and pathogenesis of the disorder, clinical diagnosis, and treatment are presented. Data sources Case report, diagnostic evidence, and scientific literature. Conclusions Zygomycosis is a rare but serious and often fatal fungal infection more common in patients with a history of uncontrolled diabetes mellitus.
