Influence of alloying elements on hardness of experimental pseudo-β-titanium alloys

Abstract: The influence of alloying elements on the structure and hardness of experimental titanium-based pseudo-β-alloys in the initial cast state, after all-round forging at 900 °C, subsequent quenching from the temperatures of β- and (α+β)-regions and aging at 500 °C within 1—10 hours has been studied. It was established that the Ti—6Al—4V—1Mo—1Cr—3.5Fe—2Sn—2Zr—0.15C alloy had the maximum hardness (53.5 HRC) in the case of aging at 500 °C for 6 hours after preliminary quenching from (α+β)-region.
