“…In addition to the studies advocating that restoration delayed by 1 week is sufficient to prevent the decrease in the bonding values after the bleaching process, there are also studies indicating that this period should be 2 or 3 weeks (Akin, Aksakalli, Basciftci, & Demir, 2013; Barbosa, Sasaki, Florio, & Basting, 2008; Bishara, Oonsombat, Soliman, Ajlouni, & Laffoon, 2005; Bittencourt et al, 2010; da Silva Machado et al, 2007; Ghorbanipour, Khoroushi, Mazaheri, Shafiei, & Majdzade, 2011; Türkün & Kaya, 2004; Unlu, Cobankara, & Ozer, 2008). There is a controversy regarding the effect of postponing restorative process for a week on the SBS of bleached teeth but delaying the bonding process for a week after bleaching may not be sufficient to provide ideal adhesion value as indicated in the study of Topcu and Nascimento (Nascimento et al, 2013; Topcu et al, 2017). In the present study, LW‐20 and OB bleaching procedure decreased SBS values compared nonbleached groups ( p < .05), but an increase in SBS values of bleached groups was observed 7 days after bleaching compared to immediately bonded groups ( p < .05; Table 3).…”
