Influence of chemical reagent complex on intensification of uranium well extraction

Abstract: Purpose. To determine the effect of special chemical reagents in the composition of leaching solutions on geotechnological parameters during uranium well extraction. To study the possibility of applying this method to increase efficiency of well extraction of uranium ores by intensifying ecotechnological processes of underground uranium leaching. To ensure design capacity of pro ducing blocks and the completeness of extracting metal from them, reduce and prevent sediment in porous medium, reduce spe cific cons… Show more

“…Continuous extraction of chambers followed by collapse is rational [18,19]. In the process of excavation, an unloading zone is formed in the roof of the chambers, which perceives only the mass of the roof directly, the pressure of which is mainly transmitted to adjacent massifs and collapsed rocks of the produced space [19][20][21]. Using this solution, it is possible to reduce the pressure of the roof on the security cells by up to 10%.…”

“…One of the main reasons for the decrease in the throughput ability of technological boreholes is an increase in hydraulic resistance and a decrease in the filtration characteristics of the seam due to the formation of colmatation. The latter is caused by settling-out of substances dissolved in technological solutions, or mechanical displacement of particles in the orebearing horizon, as well as gas release [9], [10]. Hardly soluble sediments and displaced clay particles in the productive horizon increase the hydraulic resistance and form impermeable areas of geochemical barriers that block the flow lines of solutions.…”

“…In situ leach uranium mining [3,4] is the most economically viable and environmentally friendly method, especially when dealing with deep deposits below 300 meters and low ore grades below 0.1%-0.2%. This technology is highly efficient and involves lower capital and operational costs during the deposit development process.…”
