Influence of Cryogenic Temperatures on the Mechanical Properties and Microstructure of 2195-T8 Alloy

Abstract: The 2195 aluminum alloy is widely used in cryogenic storage tanks for space vehicles, where it can reach a temperature of 20 K. In order to explore the reasons for the increased strength of 2195 aluminum alloys at cryogenic temperatures, uniaxial tensile tests were conducted in the range of 20 K–298 K.
