Influence of Different Rootstocks on Growth, Photosynthesis, Biochemical Composition, and Nutrient Contents in ‘Fantasy Seedless’ Grapes

Abstract: The influence of 10 different rootstocks was investigated for evaluating the most suitable rootstock for table grape cultivar Fantasy Seedless. The growth performance, photosynthesis, biochemical composition, and primary nutrients' status of the scion after grafting were investigated in 'Fantasy Seedless' grafted on 10 different rootstocks. The studies on vegetative parameters revealed that the rootstock influences the vegetative growth thereby increasing the photosynthesis of a vine. The rootstock influenced … Show more

“…This showed that low value of a/b ratio gives better tolerance under heat stress condition. Similar results were also reported by Somkuwar et al, (2015). There was no clear cut trend for TSS and acidity.…”

“…A two year investigation was carried to study the growth performance of Red Globe on different rootstocks. Somkuwar et al, (2015) [21] studied the influence of different rootstocks on growth, photosynthesis, biochemical composition and nutrient contents in Fantasy Seedless grapes and reported that rootstock influences the vegetative growth thereby increasing the photosynthesis of vine. Fantasy Seedless grafted on Dogridge followed by 110R rootstock proved better for growth parameters.…”

“…In this sense, the use of rootstocks between 8 mm and 10 mm in diameter is recommended for the performance of grafting by top cleft grafting (COSTA; COSTA, 2003;ROBAINA et al, 2015). More vigorous rootstock provides increase in the transport of water and nutrients and in this sense, the tendency of seedling shoots is to show greater growth (SOMKUWAR et al, 2015;SHARMA et al, 2019). However, the production of more vigorous guava rootstocks requires prolonged time, around 280 days (ROBAINA, 2011).…”
