Abstract:This work focused on the use of the dip-coating process to prepare magnesium oxide (MgO) coatings on silicon carbide fibers (SiC f ) as an interfacial system for SiC f /SiC composites. The MgO coatings were prepared on KD-I SiC f using thermal decomposition of magnesium acetate tetrahydrate (C 4 H 6 MgO 4 $4H 2 O) in a vacuum furnace. The effect of the amount of C 4 H 6 MgO 4 $4H 2 O on the coating's microstructure and morphology, mechanical and dielectric properties of SiC f /SiC composites were investigated.… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
