Reducing the environmental footprint of the construction industry in general and concrete in particular is essential. The addition of synthetic and natural fibers to concrete mixes at appropriate dosages enhances durability and strength and extends the lifespan of concrete infrastructures. This study reviews the geometric and mechanical properties of selected fibers such as steel, basalt, polypropylene, polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene, glass, carbon, and natural fibers and their impact on concrete fresh, mechanical, and durability properties when combined in different configurations. The study focuses on the effect of blending fibers with concrete mixes that use alkali-activated binders based on recycled industrial byproducts such as slag and fly ash and thereby contribute to reduction of CO2 contribution through complete or partial replacement of Ordinary Portland cement (OPC). As a result, the effect of binder content, binder composition, alkaline activator concentration, and water-to-binder (w/b) ratio on fresh properties, mechanical strength, and durability of concrete with blended fibers is also evaluated in this study. The properties of fiber-reinforced concrete with alkali-activated binder and conventional OPC binders are compared. Fiber-reinforced concrete with alkali-activated binders that are based on industrial byproducts may represent sustainable alternatives to conventional concrete and offers competitive fresh and mechanical properties when fiber properties, fiber content, w/b ratio, binder type, and dosage are carefully considered in concrete mix design.

Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) is a major source of CO2 emissions in the environment. Recent micro- and macro-behavioural research has focused on geopolymer concrete (GPC), an innovative alternative to traditional Portland cement concrete. Geopolymers, a cement-based alternative, can serve as a substitute for OPC composites. Geopolymer composites (GC) are more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly than organic polymer composites. The structural features and qualities of reinforced concrete (RC) are very relevant to the building sector. A variety of factors, including the binder material mix, curing conditions, and particle type, influence the strength of geopolymer concrete. Binders like fly ash, slag, metakaolin, and the right alkaline activator change how well the geopolymer matrix sticks together and how strong it is overall. Temperature and humidity, both factors in the curing process, determine the optimal approach for producing the appropriate mechanical properties. The geopolymerization process requires the presence of many components. The mix design has an impact on the concrete's workability, strength, aggregate type, and water-to-binder ratio. To demonstrate that geopolymer concrete is a suitable alternative for conventional concrete. Using SPSS. Identified five key elements influencing the effectiveness of construction Strength of Fiber Reinforced Self-Compacting Geopolymer Precast Concrete using factor analysis. Divide these elements into the following categories: Their classification depends on a number of factors, such as the type and amount of alkali activator used, the mix design and proportions, the geopolymer binder's composition, the presence of adjuvants or additives, and the curing conditions.

The application of geopolymer concrete in buildings and structures is becoming widespread because of its low cost and high strength characteristics. At the same time, the capabilities of geopolymer concrete are not fully used, especially to strengthen flexural properties. The article examines the problems of developing an effective composition of geopolymer concrete based on ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBS) by selecting the optimal composition of the alkaline activator and the amount of basalt fiber (BF). To determine the degree of effectiveness of the proposed formulation solutions, the characteristics of geopolymer fiber-reinforced concrete (FRC) were determined. It has been investigated the most effective composition of an alkaline activator is an activator containing a NaOH solution with a molarity of 12 M. The most optimal dosage of BF is 1.5% by weight of GGBS. The increase in compressive and flexural strength for the most effective composition of geopolymer FRC 12 M/BF1.5, which combines the most effective parameters of formulation solutions, compared to the least effective composition 8 M/BF0 was 40.54% and 93.75%, respectively, and the decrease of water absorption was 45.75%. The obtained scientific result represents a significant empirical basis for future research in the field of geopolymer FRC. The developed effective composition of geopolymer FRC is ready for use in practical construction.
