“…When fruit attained the equal edible ratio at 70% in 'Early Big' (at 11 weeks AFFB) like its maternal parent 'Sah Keng' [23], the TSS/TA ratio in the juice of 'Early Big' fruit had already reached 28 ( figure 3), which meets the requirement for trade, as suggested by Underhill and Wong [21] ( figure 3). For other litchi cultivars, such as 'Brewster' [24], 'Hong Huey' and 'Chacapat' [25], different values of the sugar/acid ratio in juice, ranging from 15 to 30, were recommended for fruit maturity evaluation due to different analysis methods used in the studies [25].
