Influence of high-intensity intermittent training on glycolipid metabolism in obese male college students

Abstract: Background: Obesity is a chronic metabolic disease that increases the risk of developing health problems including respiratory disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and coronary heart disease. In college students, as well as impacting physical health, obesity can also affect mental health and even students' future careers. “…Más recientemente, Torales et al (2018) hicieron hincapié en los beneficios del ejercicio físico sobre el estado de ánimo, calidad del sueño, estrés y capacidad cognitiva. Del mismo modo, son muchos los trabajos que destacan el papel que juega la AF en la mejora de la composición corporal, disminución de la resistencia a la insulina y colesterol, así como adherencia a la dieta mediterránea entre la población más joven (López-Nuevo et al, 2021;Sun et al, 2020).…”

“…The 16 studies that were ultimately included in the review were all published in English between 2012 and 2021. The interventions differed in their study design in seven CCTs (29)(30)(31)(32)(33)(34)(35), four RCTs (36)(37)(38)(39) and five cohort studies with a single group and pre-post design (40)(41)(42)(43)(44). The interventions were conducted in different countries around the world, including four in the USA (30,40,41,39), four in China (36,33,38,34), two in Korea (32,42) and one each in the United Emirates (29), Indonesia (31), South Africa (43), Iran (37), Jamaica (44) and in Saudi Arabia (35).…”

“…Changing lifestyle through increasing physical activity is an important part of cardiovascular risk factor management measures. The effects of exercise on weight loss and management of cardiovascular risk factors vary greatly among individuals, which can be reflected in demographic characteristics [ 13 ], training program characteristics [ 14 ], and other aspects. Evidence suggests that aerobic exercise programs can also improve body composition (weight/fat loss with muscle preservation) and physical function among individuals with obesity [ 15 ].…”
