Influence of humic acid and poultry manure on nutrient content and their uptake by T. aman rice

Abstract: A study was conducted to examine the nutrient content and their uptake of rice as influenced by the application of humic acid (HA) and poultry manure (PM). This experiment was laid out in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with three replications. Three levels each of humic acid (0, 3 and 6 L ha -1 ) and poultry manure (0, 3 and 6 t ha -1 ) were applied. BRRI dhan39 was used as test crop. Basal doses of N, P, K and S fertilizers were applied. Both humic acid and poultry manure either singly or in combin… Show more

“…In case of all four nutrient elements (N, P, K and S), the lowest uptake was recorded in control treatments at both BAU farm and Farmer's field. The results of our study were partially accorded to those of several comparable studies of some researchers (Roy et al, 2018;Saha et al, 2014;Hossain et al, 2010) who observed increased uptake of N, P, K and S in rice due to application of poultry manure combined with inorganic fertilizers. CONCLUSION From the above results, it may be concluded that organic fertilizersin form of poultry manure has a potential to increase the growth parameters, yield components, grain and straw yields and nutritional quality of rice.…”

“…In general, there was no significant difference between T 5 and T 4 for nutrient content in grain and straw samples at both locations. These findings are partially similar to those of Saha et al, 2014;Hossain et al 2010;Myint et al, 2010 who obtained higher contents of nutrient elements such as N, P, K and S in rice by applying poultry manure with inorganic fertilizers. T 0: Control; T 1 : 75% RFD; T 2 : 100% RFD; T 3 : 75% RFD + Kazi Jaibo Shar (5 tha -1 ); T 4 : 75% RFD + Kazi Jaibo Shar (3 t ha -1 ); T 5 : 75% RFD + Poultry manure (3 t ha -1 ); T 6 : 75% RFD + Cow dung (5 t ha -1 ); CV = Co-efficient of variation; SE = Standard error of means…”

“…(El-Shabrawy et al, 2010;Ayuso et al, 1996;Delfine et al, 2005;Hopkins and Stark, 2003 respectively). According to Saha et al (2014), the combined application of humic acid and manure had a significant impact on rice grain production. Seyedbagheri (2010) discovered that increasing leonardite dosages improved tuber production from 11.4 percent to 22.3 percent.…”

“…Yield increase with the leonardite or humic substances application were also found for cucumber, maize, wheat, cabbage and potato (El-Shabrawy et al, 2010;Ayuso et al, 1996;Delfine et al, 2005;Syabryai et al, 1965;Hopkins and Stark, 2003 respectively). Saha et al (2014) concluded that the combine application of humic acid and manure considerably influenced rice grain yield. Seyedbagheri (2010) found that tuber yield significantly increased from 11.4% to 22.3% with increasing leonardite doses.…”
