Influence of Machining and Heat Treatment on Deformations of Thin-Walled Bearings

Abstract: Paper deals with identification of the main causes of deformations of the thin-walled bearings and comprehensive analysis of the causes of bearing deformation and suggestion of the possible solutions. It deals with the analysis of bearing steel, its characteristics and causes of deformation of bearing rings during heat treatment and manufacturing process. Provides experimental measurement and report of uniformities on the surface of bearing rings - called oval and cradle, metallographic analysis of rings, as w… Show more

“…The process of grinding of an orbital path of outer bearing rings runs, as an operation after turning, hardening, i.e, heat treatment of rings, grinding of faces and outside diameters [13,7]. After the process of grinding, the process of polishing follows and, finally, installing bearings into products that the company produces for car or other engineering industry [12,10].…”

“…By the process, burnings of orbital path surface are formed and they are classified as a product mismatch. One of reasons may be a steel supplier, as steel can be of different quality [13,1,14].…”

“…The intensity of wear was determined by direct measurement of the linear dimensions at the point where the tool was subjected to the most intense wear. In relation to the selected geometry of the cutting inserts, measurements were made of the width of the groove on the rake of the KB tool, the wear on the tip of the VB C tool, the wear of the maximum VB Bmax and, primarily, the occurrence of the VB N notch wear was monitored [1,15].…”
